Referring a patient.
I’m a perinatal psychotherapist seeing women from fertility treatment through the first year postpartum — telehealth, anywhere in New York State.
What you can count on
- Speed. A free consult within 48 hours and a first session within the week. No waitlist.
- The loop closes.With her release, I confirm within one business day that your patient reached me, tell you if she didn’t, and let you know once she’s established. You won’t wonder what happened to a referral.
- Triage is my job, not yours.If you’re not sure she’s a fit — the EPDS was fine but the nurse is worried — send her. The call is free, and if I’m not the right person I’ll get her to someone who is.

On medication I coordinate with reproductive psychiatry, so a patient who needs both doesn’t get lost between us.
How to refer

- Warm handoff. With her consent, your office calls or emails me her name and number. I reach out within one business day.
- She contacts me directly. The form at daniellekwait.com/book, a call, or a text.
For the front desk — this is the whole script:
“We work with a therapist who specializes in pregnancy and postpartum, Danielle Kwait. The first call is free — it’s daniellekwait.com, or we can send her your number if that’s easier.”
The practical part
Sessions are 50 minutes and $200, out-of-network with monthly superbills. I go over the cost on the free call, so nobody is surprised after you’ve vouched for me. Telehealth across New York State; the baby is welcome at session, and partners can join.
